DUBLIN, Ohio, April 16, 2013 — To promote new efficiencies and help ensure ambulatory surgery centers’ compliance with accreditation regulations, Cardinal Health will showcase AccredAbility, a comprehensive accreditation tracking and reporting solution, at the Ambulatory Surgery Center Association annual meeting in Boston this week.
AccredAbility helps ensure the completion of all accreditation tasks in a simple, efficient browser-based environment. It can be configured for surgery centers of any size and fulfills accreditation requirements of the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care, American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities, and The Joint Commission.

AccredAbility can create custom profiles for surgery centers based on information related to the center’s number of operating rooms, specialty types, Medicare participation, accreditation type, and equipment and equipment location. As profiles are configured, AccredAbility generates a list of accreditation tasks to be completed, along with related forms, and assigns deadlines to help ensure that tasks are completed and organized quickly and accurately. The system generates alerts to missing data elements or “out of normal” values entered to the system and can be used to schedule reports, services and training.
When using AccredAbility, surgery centers can prepare efficiently for accreditation-related inspections. Agency inspectors can access surgery center accounts to have instant access to related reports and data.
AccredAbility also offers users compliance policies and procedures on an as-needed basis or in manual format. The system offers a Standards and Regulations section, where users can view current information from Medicare, various state regulatory agencies and national accreditation agencies.
AccredAbility also incorporates an e-mail-based patient satisfaction survey that sends, compiles and stores reports. The tool can generate cost savings for surgery centers currently outsourcing survey services.
